recipe #4: kona stout ice cream

source: Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams at Home recipe book

rating: 8.5/10

modifications: used kona light roast instead of dark so I used a bit more; used Guinness as my stout; used a little less sugar than called for; halved the recipe

So so so awesome. Perhaps my new favorite flavor. And that's quite a statement considering I don't like beer. Once again, I thought that it had too much beer but after I froze it, it was perfect. Extra perfect for anyone who enjoys beer. Texture was awesome, just like something you'd get in a store. The Kona (from the Fresh Market) was also really good. Don't know what else to write because it was that super.

I forgot to mention in the corn & black raspberry post that I didn't use eggs. Remember the egg smell in my kiwi ice cream? Jeni doesn't use eggs in any of her ice cream recipes so that will forever elimate the problem I had. It feels safer and now I don't have to worry about using a zillion eggs each time and making sure I have enough in the fridge.

I also thought it was pretty cool that you could make your own six pack of whatever beer you want.
