Jenn Runs a Warrior Run

I did it. I ran 5k up a mountain. Okay, I walked 5k up a mountain. Tom, Ashley, Lucia, Liz and I ran it at the noon wave. It was awesome. I'm so glad I ended up doing it. I've been running 3 miles and timing myself but I'm not sure if that "training" did anything because it was 10% running and 90% climbing uphill and going through mud. It was at labrador mountain which is a mountain for skiing/snowboarding. Except today it was grass and mud. I had a feeling this morning that I should wear shorts under my pants and I'm so glad I did because I left my pants on the mountain since they were soaked in mud and getting super heavy. The first mud slip and slide thing is in the picture behind us. The best part was when Tom was running towards it and wiped out infront of everyone. My least favorite part was when we had to go through tires that were hanging from trees. It looked easy. And it definitely looked large enough for me to go through. And I totally judged everyone who passed it without actually going through it. And then it was my turn. And I tried and there was absolutely no way I was going to fit. So while people were watching, I got stuck and then just crawled back out and went around it.

We took our time and finished in just under an hour. The first person to finish was done in 25 minutes. We got a little medal but the numbers we got to wear were my favorite part. I felt great after and I wasn't even planning on napping but in the evening I started to feel it. I just slept for 3 hours and woke up. Now I can't feel my body. Can't wait to get up in the morning tomorrow.
