FYI

I just posted an entry but reverted it back to a draft just incase it would somehow affect my offer of admissions. So once I hear back, I'll post my thoughts on the interview weekend. But it was awesome. I wish I could post it up now.

More Paint

As always, these paintings were totally and completely inspired by elise. I replicated her square and triangle paintings. But Cliff actually requested the zigzags and they're my favorite to paint. I painted three for him that he'll (hopefully) frame together. I used this color palette to paint them.

Card of the Month: January

Peter's taking his MCAT this month so January's card revolved around some words of encouragement.

Awesome

Martha Stewart and Avery got together to create a beautiful beautiful thing: martha stewart home office. Life is good. Scrapbooking supplies + office supplies. I was going to buy everything online but I called staples to see if there would be anything in the store since the site was a little hard to navigate and my eyes were glazing over trying to find everything. So I called and the lady was super nice and I asked her if they have the full line in-store or if I would find more stuff online and she said "We have two full rows that are 29 feet of martha stewart products". I told her that I would see her soon.

So now I'm off to staples with my dad to buy my grumpy feelings away.

Holiday Minibook

I finished this right before I left for California so I would have time to work on my second California minibook when I got back. I originally wanted to make one book with the holiday prep and California since I was there on Christmas Day, but the holiday part ended up being too many pages and the California part was wayyyyy too long so I split them into two. Here it is!

at the moment

At the moment, I am currently enjoying an incredibly strong cup of home brewed ginger tea. With a lot of honey. It's so amazing. I've been having a cup everyday this week. I can't wait until I brew tons of it at school and drink it with my all natural honey I bought at Beak and Skiff.

DIY Calendar

Last summer I saw this calendar at anthropologie that I fell in love with. Obviously I did not purchase this lovely calendar because it was like, a million dollars for this tiny little thing. I tried to find a picture of it but I can't find it anywhere. It was basically loose sheets with a tiny calendar on the bottom and a beautiful watercolor image on the top. I found similar letterpress calendars here which are totally making mine look super lame. Now I want to start doing letterpress. Oh jeez. That's a different story. paper source also just came out with blank calendars that you can decorate yourself.

I tried to find a calendar layout that I liked online and of course I couldn't, so I hand typed every single month in Word.

Then I printed them out, cut them down and trimmed all the edges.

I'll finish the rest of them when I get back to school because most of my stamps are there. It doesn't look fantastic but it's better than my Society for the Study of Reproduction calendar.
